After five generations, Peter Stokkebye produces obviously classic blends. Natural starts with flue-cured Virginias for a grassy, citrus flavor. Burleys bring a little body to the blend, and unflavored Cavendish keeps any flavor from dominating while maintaining a mild body. A classic tobacco suitable for every bowl.
Unflavored Cavendish becomes one of my favorite ingredients. While not adding flavor by itself, it does limit tongue-bite by removing the harshness from tobacco blends. I found Golden Virginias to be the forward flavor with cocoa from the Burleys in the background. When I hear of "grandfather blends," this one comes immediately to mind.
