Elliott Grecian Dane pipe. I made this graceful beauty from a small block of briar imported by Mark Tinsky and sold to me by Tim West about 1999. My experience with Grecian briar is that it rarely has great grain. This was a exception as you can see. It did have a flaw on the bottom of the shank and that is why it is rusticated. The shape is basically a calabash but with a Danish flair. The vulcanite stem is a true military bit that fits into a vulcanite ferrule. I love the balance and weight which is 1.2 ounces. The smoking chamber is 3/4 inches across and the walls are nice and thick. It would be great for Virginias. The pipe is 1-7/8 inches tall and 5.5 inches long. It will pass a pipe cleaner with ease.
