Elliott Pipes - The Big Horn

This is a handmade one of a kind pipe and it is sold. I just completed this large horn. I try to make one pipe a month but we have a lot going on. This is Mr. April. I bought this block of briar five to six years ago from Romeo Briar in Italy. It was a rather large block and was cut as one half circle. Due to the size and shape I sat on this a long time to think of just the right idea for what shape would look best. The briar is as flawless as I ever saw. The top and bottom are totally covered with birds eyes. It shows very nice contrast with the grain. While it is a horn, it can be smoked like a billiard because the bowl is very slightly forward cantered. The extension is YEW. This YEW has very interesting grain of its own. The acrylic stem is tortoise colored and is quite open all the way through. I made the bite thinner than the average. 7-1/4 x 2-2/3 inches.
