Like many pipemakers, Manuel Shaabi started his pipe making career repairing pipes. As a result, he learned many of the problems with shaping briar and fitting stems. He used these lessons to produce pipes with a unique flair. Shaabi's dark stain highlights cross grain on the bottom of the bowl and some bird's eye around the bowl. In my opinion, the egg shape is one of the more comfortable in the hand. His expert drilling brings an unmatched ease of smoke to this beautiful piece of briar.
